This week, I talked about finding that “inner heart,” the peace and bliss in the flow, no ego or expectation; even just finding that “inner heart’s” expression, I mentioned in the previous post ✨💫🧘🏼♀️
Here are my tips:
Shift Your Mindset**
Transitioning your focus from purely the physical aspects of yoga to a deeper, inward exploration is crucial. Asanas are just poses, the tip of the iceberg. I believe this is one of the keys that will help you to stay interested over the years and allow the benefits of yoga to extend beyond the mat into all areas of your life. You will see growth and change in you, your inner self.
Embrace Playfulness**
Keep your practice playful; don’t overcomplicate things or take them too seriously. Life is challenging enough without adding extra weight to your yoga practice. Release expectations and pressure! You can still make progress while having fun. (And play whatever music you like, or none at all!)
Finding a Yoga Style and teacher you like and stay consistent **
Discovering a style of yoga and a teacher that resonates with you, and committing to it for an extended period, is essential. Yoga is not a quick fix; it’s not a diet plan; it requires discipline, consistency, and time to see progress. By dedicating myself to practice and to continually learning, I was able to find dedication. And this evolves as well, go with the flow.

Happy Friday, Yogi’s 🕉️ I’ve seen some posts lately that seem to criticize others’s yoga practice, expression, interpretation, or choice of music. Even criticizing the use of incense or palo santo, saying it’s culturally inappropriate.
Of course there have been some diversions from the practice that have gone to extremes or to unhealthy versions. But isn’t this practice we call yoga, so old, so layered, that it has evolved & been interpreted into so many lovely forms? Must we jump to criticism? Yes, sometimes cultural appropriation is not ok, I’m personally not a fan of someone dressing up as a Native American or a Viking (me) wielding axes & weapons for fun. But if we are celebrating a practice that we have studied with passion, that we honor, isn’t that beautiful? It is not in my ancestry, but I feel in a past life, it may have been. I also love Thai food even though it is not my cultural heritage😋
I find yoga to be an expression. An expression that I have found deep in my practice & in my heart through meditation, through study. And it constantly evolves for me.
I used to love the challenge of getting into the asanas. Now my challenge lies in smooth transitions, & strength for that, to let yoga feel like self expression. Perhaps I do play unusual music for a yoga class. As we move & flow, we get lost in the feeling. Like a dance, we feel & move to breath. It’s not another thing in life that has to be done perfectly. After all, isn’t that the point of yoga? To connect. To unite. Mind. Body. Soul.
Those magical classes where we escape everything heavy going on in life & our minds are free in a moving meditation. We let the asanas flow through us. They are not a shape we are trying to re-create. They are an expression of us in this moment.💫✨

Slow, steady… quiet the mind, the body stills… even more important on a Bosu Ball! Bird of Paradise was our peak pose this week so I had to have a little fun! 🤪 I keep working on this, I was a little beat after class, and standing Visvamitrasana is a challenge on the Bosu. Give it a try and let me know how you do… Bosu-Yoga anyone? ☺️🧘🏻♂️✨ @bosu_fitness

Happy Friday, Yogi’s ✨ The goal of our practice is not perfection in movement, that would involve the ego and the intention is to quiet the ego and the mind. On quieting the mind, we create awareness, connection and calm to allow presence and clarity.
Our flow this week, working in some binds and leading to our peak pose, Bird of Paradise, after.

Happy Friday, Yogi’s ✨ Last theme was our roots, our home, our grounding. And amazingly, my good friend shared some words with me that became my mantra instantly: “be the seed!” Be the seed of what you want to see! Be the seed, of Kindness, of Compassion, of Friendship, of Love… and what a wonderful thought as we lean into love-season. But I strongly felt those as we go through so much right now. “Be the Seed,” is repeating in my mind ♥️☺️✨ And one of my students/friends shared that she likes it when I video the flow for the week, she can break it down in her own time. I’m so happy! So here it is. Much love to @angelyn42 & @elainedochard. You both touched me this week! 🙏🏼
